Hair Loss in women is very different compared to Men. Hereditary transmission through Genes is the dominant cause of Hair loss in Men but Hereditary factors play very small role in causation of hair loss in women.

The most common causes of Hair Loss in women are:

1. Anemia (Low Hemoglobin, Low blood level)

2. Thyroid Gland Malfunction, especially Hypothyroidism.

3. Hormonal Imbalance, especially Female to Male hormone imbalance

4. Polycystic Ovarian Disease

5. Vitamin D deficiency

6. Hereditary

The treatment of Hair loss in women depends on the cause. Once we treat the cause, mostly the ongoing hair loss can be stopped.
